LFPI Open Day

The 2022 European Heritage Days in Issy-les-Moulineaux will take place on September 17 and 18, offering visitors the opportunity to discover the city's rich history and culture. Here's a look at this year's highlight, the Heliport open day with the presence of Puma & Super Puma of the GIH & ET 3/60 Esterel

Missions and Capabilities


The ET 3/60 Estérel provides long-distance freight and passenger transport missions, particularly in support of French forces abroad, humanitarian transport, and medical evacuations. It also participates in force projection and logistical support operations, in coordination with the Operations and Transport Support Center (CSOA) and the European Air Transport Command (EATC).


Missions and Capabilities


The Joint Helicopter Group (GIH) is an elite French unit created on July 1, 2006, specializing in supporting and assisting the intervention forces of the Ministry of the Interior, notably the GIGN and the RAID. Attached to the 4th Special Forces Helicopter Regiment (RHFS), the GIH is based at Air Base 107 in Villacoublay.

The GIH carries out three types of missions:


  • Support: deployment of personnel in secure areas without direct helicopter deployment.
  • Support: deployment of personnel with aircraft deployment for intelligence or fire support.
  • Special Transport: transportation of VIPs or civil defense personnel and equipment.

This day was an opportunity for Civil people to discover Helicopters of her army an share passion and expertise . It also provided an opportunity to highlight careers in the aeronautics industry and inspire future generations to join this dynamic sector.
