TU 154 in Paris
On July 16, 2020, Paris–Charles-de-Gaulle Airport saw the landing of one of the few Tu-154Ms still in service with the Russian Air Force. This aircraft was RA-85155, belonging to the 223rd Flight Unit (State Airline).
A legendary aircraft still in service
The Tu-154M, nicknamed "Careless" (NATO), is a 1960s trijet, still operated by some Russian military services in an improved version.Its continued service despite regulatory limitations is a testament to its specific strategic role (official transport, special missions).
Although there has been no official communication regarding the precise purpose of this mission, the Tu-154M of the 223rd Flight Unit is often used for government or diplomatic flights, including logistical support or delegation transport missions. Its presence at CDG may correspond to an official Russian mission, often linked to bilateral meetings or events in Paris.
