Strategic Announcements for the French Navy
The official inauguration was marked by the presence of Florence Parly, Minister of the Armed Forces, who announced the launch of the French aircraft carrier renewal program, aimed at replacing the Charles-de-Gaulle.
This program, preceded by 18 months of strategic studies, aims to integrate upcoming technological revolutions to ensure the future aircraft carrier's functionality until the final decades of the century.
Innovation and Youth in the Spotlight
The SEAnnovation space showcased 34 French and international startups, providing a platform for young, innovative companies in the naval sector. President Emmanuel Macron visited this space and emphasized the importance of innovation in the defense sector. Furthermore, the "Vessel of Careers" (Navigator of Careers) enabled more than 300 young people to discover careers in the naval industry, thus meeting the need for new talent in this sector.
A trade show promoting international cooperation
Euronaval 2018 was also a meeting place for naval defense stakeholders, fostering exchanges between industry, the military, and policymakers. Conferences and workshops addressed topics such as cybersecurity, marine robotics, and environmental challenges, thus contributing to the preparation of tomorrow's navies.
This edition of Euronaval consolidated its role as an essential platform for the naval defense industry, combining innovation, international cooperation, and commitment to young talent.
Conclusion
Euronaval 2018 established itself as a significant anniversary edition, both for its scale and the strategic directions it unveiled. By bringing together thousands of naval sector professionals, international decision-makers, innovative startups, and young talent, the show demonstrated its ability to bridge the gap between tradition and the future. Its emphasis on technological innovation, international cooperation, and the training of future generations confirms that Euronaval is much more than just a trade show: it is a strategic showcase for the future of global naval defense.
